Laura M. Catina
Managing Attorney
Laura Catina is the Founder and Managing Attorney of Catina Law PLLC, a boutique law firm she launched in 2019 after more than 17 years practicing law in both a large international firm and respected boutique practices. After nearly two decades as a litigator, Laura set out to build the kind of firm she believed would best serve her clients—one grounded in trust, accessibility, strategic thinking, and results.
With over 23 years of legal experience, Laura serves as both an advocate and trusted advisor to business owners, professionals, and individuals navigating complex legal matters. Her clients value her ability to see the full picture—legal, business, and practical—and to deliver clear, decisive counsel without unnecessary posturing or delay.
Laura’s practice focuses on commercial and construction litigation, corporate and business law, and residential and commercial real estate. She represents individuals and entities in complex business disputes, including contract matters, partnership and shareholder disputes, and construction-related litigation. In addition to litigation, Laura regularly advises clients on transactional matters, including contract drafting and other critical business documents.
Laura has extensive experience handling residential and commercial real estate transactions and has overseen the closing of hundreds of transactions since founding Catina Law PLLC. She and her team work closely with clients, lenders, and real estate professionals to guide transactions from contract through closing with efficiency and attention to detail. Her proactive, hands-on approach helps issues get resolved early, keeping transactions on track and minimizing risk for her clients.
An experienced litigator, Laura handles matters from inception through trial and appeal and has argued multiple appeals before the New York Appellate Divisions. She regularly appears in New York state and federal courts, practices in New Jersey state courts, and represents clients in arbitrations and mediations. Laura is also licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and serves as a Hearing Officer for the Rockland County Office of Buildings and Codes.
Beyond her legal practice, Laura is deeply committed to her community and the profession. She served on the Board of Directors of the Rockland County Bar Association from 2016 to 2024, including as Treasurer and Vice President, and currently serves on the Bar Association’s Judicial Review and Screening Committee. She is also a member of the Assigned Counsel Program Board of Directors.
Laura earned her Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice from The Pennsylvania State University in 1999 and her Juris Doctor from New York Law School in 2002. She is also a mother of three, an entrepreneur, and a firm believer that strong legal counsel should support—not complicate—her clients’ lives and businesses.
